Final Statement of Intent

The elements that will make my music video part narrative is the use of actors, the links between the lyrics of the song and the content of the music video. The music video will be structured like a story that has the purpose of spreading awareness of the negative effects of drugs. Narrative music videos are more engaging for the audience.

The two settings in my music video will include, the inside a house in the living room, kitchen and dining room, all of which will have objects such as flowers and food that are subject to my chosen colour scheme. I will also have a dark background will red lighting.

The main representations in my music video will be age and gender. This will express to the audience that this problem can happen to anyone.

There will be many times in the music video that will include lip synching. The lip synching will be part of the performative elements of the music video. It will be mostly the main character that is lip synching.

The music video will attract the stated target audience as drugs and alcohol are usually popular with the younger generation and it is usually expected from their peers when they're at a party, a club or a concert. My music video will also be very attractive to my target audience as it will be similar to other popular artists music videos which will therefore ensure that the audience will like the music video. It will be modern and stylish with a clear story and message, and a clear mise-en-scene.

The repetitive shots in the middle of the music video would have been different, as I would have used many more people with other issues, such as dealing with death and prison. Therefore, there would have been better transitions and more shots to choose from. 

Through my music video I plan to portray flowers and food decaying as the music video progresses. Other props will include cigarets, beer bottles etc. 

The website and the music video will have a clear sense of branding across both products. The website will have a clear colour scheme of red that is corresponding to the music video. The website will also include pictures that are relevant to the music video, the pictures will be presented at both sides of the website page, these images will be originals and will be taken during my filming. I will choose a font to use and it will be consistent throughout the whole website.

The logo and title will be presented at the beginning of the music video. I will also put the logo on my website to establish my branding.

The working links on my website will include links to charities that help people with drug addictions/ drug support services and charity rehab.

On the website there will be text/ writing that introduces the artist to the fans on the web pages. I will use original photos of flowers as my main images. 

On my website I would have used a sans-serif font to appeal to the younger demographic and to create a more contemporary feel.  

I will put my music video on the website, theme-based website images will be placed in an attractive manner and the website will be very clear in order to help the viewers daily find the products and information on the website. Audio visual (AV) elements will be included on the web page as it will help promote the music video as it will be an attractive element and create an impression of the viewer who could turn into fans of the artist from the website.

Over the years, digital convergence has enabled easy access and convenience for promoting artists through websites, YouTube and social media to share their music videos with their fans, therefore digital convergence has enabled me to produce a high quality website, and video prototypes. 

Throughout the music video, there will be red flowers that gradually decay, representing the sadness felt by the people within the music video. I would have made this more clear and presented them in the background of my music video.
