Key elements to include


Check list:

  • My music video will be a mix of performative and narrative, therefore will have to include performative elements such as lip synching. Also to include a basic storyline with a clear message.
  • Intertextuality- media technique used in 21 Savage's music video 'A lot'
  • Two different social groups- age and gender
  • Two or more different locations
  • Different camera shots and angles
  • Smooth shot transitions
  • Appropriate lighting for the setting
  • Mise-en-scene:
  • Colours
  • Props
  • Costumes
  • Scenery

These key elements must be included in my music video to conform to the expectations of the genre, the audience you expect and what is expected of a video.

Paper planes- MIA  Music video analysis  All the elements within the song interplay with the theme of immigration. The song was intended to criticise widespread negative stereotypes associated with immigrants. Through the lyrics and the video, MIA satirizes the stereotypes constructing immigrants as violent malingerers.
